How We got Started...

SpeedMeetsArt.com was founded in 2008 in Cleveland, Ohio by Chad Hanobik.

Chad has had a passion for racing since an early age. His grandfather, Steve Hanobik owned Supermodifieds from the late 50s until the early 90s. Steve had recognizable drivers piloting his cars over the years such as: Ed Bamerlin, Ed Mokatin, Les Olexen, Kenny Dawson Gus Olexen, and Steve Hanobik Jr.

Chad's Dad, Steve Jr. was rookie of the year in the Supermodified divsion at both Lorain County and Sandusky Speedway in 1980. Steve and his brother, Jim Hanobik both had intracle parts in the yellow 12 of Gus Olexen winning the prestigious 1981 Hy-Miller 100 lap at Sandusky Speedway. Jim Hanobik has helped Joe Grunda prepare cars over the years as well.

Unfortuanely due to the economics of racing the Hanobiks retired from racing in the early 90s.

Chad had been looking for a way to get the family back into the racing scene for a few years. Busy with his day job as Director of Enterprise Accounts, at ThinPrint Inc. He started "Blazing" the old photos of the family cars for fun, and SpeedMeetsArt was born. Most of the profits of SpeedMeetsArt will go to fund the new quarter midget of C.J. Hanobik (now 1 years old).
